Our campaign, Bee Workers to Key Workers raised over £5000! These funds enabled us to provide Liverpool key workers with over 2000 Liverpool Bee Balms to help soothe chapped skin caused by PPE worn during the Covid pandemic.
We were delighted to employ a local young person to create 2026 balms for Liverpool key workers. We were also pleased to work with The Gateway Collective who masterminded the operations behind the communications and distribution to our key workers!
In collaboration with Blackburne House, we taught beekeeping to over 50 young people from around the UK during summer and autumn of 2020.
Our balms, Liverpool Bee Balms, are created with 100% natural products including beeswax from our Liverpool apiaries. The beeswax was triple filtered to ensure its purity before slowly melting down to make our balms.
Our campaign was launched on Monday 10th August with the first deliveries to Alder Hey and the L6 Centre. Staff and volunteers at these fantastic places have been working through the Covid-19 pandemic by supporting the local community by helping local and regional families and individuals get through a very difficult time.
This campaign has enabled us to meet so many wonderful individuals, teams and groups who have tirelessly supported communities through the work they do. We have learnt so much about the vital work that goes on behind the scenes and have been blessed to be able to offer a bee balm for their work.
A big thank you to all our supporters who have helped push this project over the line. This new venture has enabled us to continue the educational and environmental work we strive to do and support our local key workers.
